LaSalle D&D 50+ Center
Our Mission
LaSalle D & D 50+ Centre provides an engaging environment for the minority English speaking community, decreasing isolation by promoting well-being with community participation in a welcoming space to all 50+ older adults in LaSalle and surrounding areas.
Our Purpose
To offer programs that nurture all aspects of the minority English speaking older adult; education, creativity, physical and mental well-being, while engaging volunteers with the opportunity to participate in fulfilling opportunities.
Our Values
We value and respect the expertise, knowledge, and skill sets of older adults. We believe they deserve to have access to activities, socialization, and volunteers, which may contribute to improved health and well-being. They should be recognized and appreciated as the owners of their centre; a safe, stimulating space that creates a sense of belonging. We believe this community can best determine the activities they would benefit from. We believe in taking a respectful and understanding approach to the reality of older adults’ changing needs regarding their participation in community life and during all interactions.
You are welcome to join the LaSalle D&D 50+ Centre!
We are delighted to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all our new members who have joined the LaSalle D&D 50+ Center. Whether you are a senior looking for companionship, activities, or support, or someone interested in volunteering and contributing to the well-being of our elderly community, we are thrilled to have you with us.
We also would like to congratulate those of you who have renewed their membership at our center. There are some pretty terrific things of which you might not be aware, that happen in your community when you become a LaSalle D&D member. Every time you become a member, even if you do not use the services, you help the centre to continue to operate. This in turn, helps others who see D&D as a wellness lifeline, have a place to come to where they find meaning, joy, wellness activities, and friends. Some, who are unable to attend centre activities, are supported in their efforts to build or re- build a social network through the Community Support Program.
